Footwear Design Workshop Ignites Creativity

As part of the Design and Art Workshop Series, Assistant Professor Vidyadhar Bhandare from the School of Design led an insightful workshop on Footwear Design. The workshops were conducted at the Alag Angle Community Art Centre in Nagpur and the Singing Line Design Institute in Sangli, Maharashtra, respectively.

The Design and Art Workshop Series, a dedicated initiative by the School of Design, aimed to enhance design awareness among aspiring students, particularly those preparing for design education. The school strategically reached out to design studios and coaching classes in Maharashtra and nearby states, organizing specialized design workshops at various locations.

During the workshops, Vidyadhar Bhandare shared his expertise on the footwear industry, covering topics such as footwear construction, foot ergonomics, and footwear anatomy. The sessions included a step-by-step demonstration of footwear sketching, providing students with a solid foundation in the basics of footwear design sketching. The interactive nature of the workshop allowed students to actively engage in sketching footwear designs and seek guidance from the experienced instructor. Tanul Vikamshi, the founder of Alag Angle, actively participated in the Nagpur workshop, adding to the collaborative and enriching learning experience for the students. These workshops not only equipped students with practical skills in footwear design but also showcased the School of Design’s commitment to fostering design education in diverse locations.
